Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are there any risks to me or my baby?

No, 3D ultrasound uses the same ultrasound waves as 2D. Extensive studies have shown that an ultrasound has no harmful effects on mother or baby.

  • What has been done to protect clients from Covid-19 virus?

During these challenging times, many things have changed. What has not changed is our commitment  to the safety of our clients and staff. We have implemented additional safety measures to ensure the utmost protection for everyone.

The front reception now has protective glass. All magazines and children's toys have been removed. The seating area is sanitized after each appointment.

  • Is the ultrasound room sanitized after each client?

The ultrasound room will continue to be sanitized after each session. During your session with us, our technician will be wearing a mask. You will also be required to wear a mask while in our office.

  • How much time does it take to do a 3D/4D ultrasound?

It would depend on the package you select. The Mom and Baby Package is a 30 minute session.  For the gender only it can take 10 - 15 minutes.

  • How many guests can I bring?

We are now allowing three  members of your household in our office. They will also be required to wear a face mask. Small children must remain in their stroller or baby carriage during your visit.

  • Do I need to have a full bladder?

No, it is not necessary to have a full bladder or to be uncomfortable during the session.  We do suggest something sweet.  Sometimes this will help make your baby a little more active.

  • What is the best time to have the 3D ultrasound done?

We can do the ultrasound after 20 weeks.  However, we find the best pictures are usually better after 24 weeks up to 32 weeks.  If you are carrying twins then you might want to come in before you reach 26 weeks.  As the babies grow there is less room for them to move around therefore making it harder to get good pictures.

  • Will I be able to know the sex of my baby during the ultrasound?

Yes, we can tell you the sex of your baby if you want to know. The sex is determined after 20 weeks.  If we are unable to determine the sex of your baby, we will have you reschedule for another appointment at a later date at no extra charge.

  • What if I don't want to know the sex of my baby?

If you do not want to know the gender then we do not show the genital area of the baby.  You still will be able to view other parts of your baby and keep the gender a surprise.

  • What if you can't get good pictures of the baby?

If we are not able to get good pictures, depending on the session or package you have selected we may reschedule you for another appointment at a later date at no additional charge.  If you are late in your pregnancy we will try for 15 - 20 minutes for pictures.  If the baby is too big we will end the session and charge you the late gestation fee of $60.00.
